The Made in NYC + Pratt fellowship program taps the creative expertise of Pratt faculty and students to assist manufacturers to better brand, market and grow their businesses. Fellowships vary from workshops and panel discussions to one one-on-one consultations with faculty-student teams.

Strategic Marketing Plan

Manufacturers will be paired up with a faculty + student team to create a custom strategic marketing plan for their business. 12 weeks.

Marketing Collaborations

A faculty led workshop aimed to help manufacturers identify their marketing needs and goals and to identify potential partners for marketing collaboration.

Photography Skills Workshop Series

A 3-part workshop series to equip manufacturers with basic photography skills for marketing, social media and online use. Three 3-hour workshops. Photography Critique

This workshop is a moderated critique and creative consultation for manufacturers to get feedback on their product and brand photography (digital and/or print). This workshop is focused on photography while covering some aspects of social media image use. Manufacturers will leave with a sense of what is working for their company and what needs more attention, as well as individualized feedback with actionable ideas for new creative and effective images that fit each manufacturer’s brand identity and match the skillset and capacity of each business.

Lecture & Demo: Camera, Lighting & Composition

 This workshop focuses on building manufacturers’ technical skills in camera control (cellphone camera, digital SLR or digital point and shoot), lighting, composition and styling. It will include demonstrations how to shoot with daylight, artificial light and set-up a variety of small studio set-ups for DIY product photography. This workshop is meant to educate manufacturers on being self-sufficient in documenting their products as well as creative image-making for marketing purposes.

Photoshop Basics Intensive

This workshop covers the basics of how to use Photoshop software to digitally edit, resize, change resolution and navigate Photoshop software. This workshop is meant for someone learning Photoshop for the first time or as a refresher course. The goal of this workshop is to lay down a foundation for post-production photography skills. No prior experience is required.

Student photographers and faculty work with Made in NYC members to capture high quality images of their products for use in individual marketing efforts.

Video for Manufacturers

Pratt faculty + students to provide customized video services to manufacturers for use in social media marketing efforts.

Social Media Strategy Seminar and Panel Discussions

A faculty moderated panel discussion featuring industry experts and social media savvy MINYC member manufacturers to help identify appropriate social media platforms, marketing strategies, and best practices for manufacturers.
