Designer James Dieter started his first lighting brand, dform, in 2001 with a line of textural wood veneer fixtures. In 2015 he launched his eponymous studio with a first showing of tetrahedron-inspired lighting. The collection responds to a desire to manifest mechanically intricate challenges as strikingly beautiful, idiosyncratic forms. The designs feature unique structures, textiles and hand-cast porcelain elements as sculptural chandeliers, pendants, and sconces. They are represented in residential, commercial and hospitality projects around the world. Each product is handmade to order with great care and attention in Brooklyn, New York. The studio welcomes customizations of all collection pieces.
