Aardvark
Brooklyn
Aardvark Interiors is a Brooklyn-based design and fabrication studio led by sculptor Jason Gandy. Jason grew up on Roosevelt Island, where he developed an early passion for art and design. While studying sculpture and fine arts at the Tyler School of Art at Temple University, he began to utilize all kinds of materials as media for creative expression.
Jason’s practice then led him to Alaska, where he created necessary objects from local natural resources for his seasonal homestead. After returning to NYC, he refined his design approach and manufacturing skills at high-end furniture studios, and eventually started Aardvark Interiors as a way to encapsulate his passions for art, sculptural furniture, and immersive environments. In their Gowanus workshop and studio space, Aardvark creates exquisite handcrafted hardwood furniture, utilizing traditional materials to express sublime, contemporary-meets-futuristic designs. The studio collaborates with architects and interior designers to develop new projects and create unique architectural spaces.
