Create-A-Marker
Paul Cavazza is a “lifer” of the Garment District, with thirty years of experience in the fashion industry. He is the president of Create-A-Marker, one of the leading computerized grading and marking companies that serves the apparel industry with state of the art equipment and large facilities. Paul himself is the product of a fashion industry lineage; his grandmother owned a sewing factory in Brooklyn for over 25 years, and his mother had a sewing factory and cutting room in Marlboro, NY, for over 30 years. In an early sign of his life’s direction, he began working in the Marlboro factory when he was 9. After graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology, Paul opened Create-A-Marker in 1993.
For those who are unfamiliar, pattern grading is the process of creating a wide range of sizes for a single model of garment, from an original single sized pattern, while marking refers to the process of placing pattern pieces efficiently to maximize the number of patterns that can be cut out of a given piece of fabric.
Create-A-Marker has worked with brands including Rag & Bone, Eckhaus Latta, Gabriela Hearst, and Yeezy Apparel. Create-A-Marker prides itself on giving personalized service to each and every customer to ensure customer satisfaction at competitive prices.
Paul says that the apparel industry in the Garment District is special as “We are so close to each other and are able to support one another in a way no other city can.”
