Mainland Vintage
Introducing Mainland Vintage Bath & Body Boutique, where each soap and bath product is a labor of love and creativity.
Sara Russell, the owner of Mainland Vintage, crafts each product right from her Park Slope, Brooklyn apartment. She sources all her supplies from US-based companies, ensuring quality and supporting local businesses. From soaps to bath salts, body oils, and bath truffles, you’ll find an array of delightful products to indulge in.
Drawing inspiration from mid-century modern travel and airmail design, Mainland Vintage’s collections revolve around locations within the United States, from the desert to the alpine-covered mountain ranges, as well as significant historical eras. Each creation is a unique blend of art and fragrance, as Sara skillfully creates her own fragrance oils for one-of-a-kind scents.
Sara’s journey from hobbyist to business owner wasn’t without challenges. “I always knew I wanted to build out multiple product lines, get my products into local stores, and have a professional look and feel to my branding,” says Sara. YouTube and TikTok creators played a pivotal role in her learning process, helping her establish a solid foundation from the start.
Sara’s passion for giving back shines through in her philanthropic efforts. 25% of sales from her Thrive with Pride soap support the Trevor Project, aiding LGBTQ+ youth. The Olive Drab soap, paying tribute to her brothers in the military, donates to the WWP. Additionally, her partnership with the Eco Soap Bank reduces waste and supports communities’ hygiene and health.
Amidst the excitement of building her business, Sara emphasizes the importance of celebrating one’s successes. “I know it can be hard to look at what you’ve accomplished for what it is instead of comparing yourself to others or what you could be,” says Sara. “Take time to celebrate small wins, recognize how amazing you are for building this from the ground up, and don’t allow imposter syndrome or fears of not being perfect to hold you back.”
