Nusprodukt
Nusprodukt, a Brooklyn-based lamp-maker that crafts unique pieces using found and upcycled materials.
“Nusprodukt is a brand of one-off handcrafted lamps made of vintage glass and abandoned objects of New York City,” explains Sara Devic, the talented owner and creator behind this unique venture. Nusprodukt lamps are not just ordinary lighting fixtures; they are exquisite pieces of art meticulously handcrafted with repurposed elements. Sara’s passion for creating unique lighting sculptures dates back to her time studying architecture in Belgrade in 2010. Over the years, as her practice evolved, she pursued a Master’s degree at the Parsons School of Design.
Sara’s creative process is a testament to her dedication to sustainability and craftsmanship. “Nusprodukt lamps are handcrafted from 95% repurposed elements,” Sara explains. She scours the streets, thrift stores, flea markets, and antique shops in search of discarded treasures such as vintage glass, porcelain, ceramic, brass, wood, or plastic objects. Each element is carefully chosen for its shape, color, texture, and scale, ensuring that every lamp is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
When asked about her advice for aspiring entrepreneurs, Sarah emphasizes the importance of perseverance: “Starting your own business takes loads of time and patience. You need to be ready to get your hands dirty!”
